Layout
Very pretty layout. I enjoy the different scenes that are incorperated into Sailormoon's wings. I can't say much about the layout since it wasn't created by you. But great job to Carissa, simple and functional!
Main
Great welcome message it tells the viewer exactly what your site focuses on and what browser is best to run your site. Updates are easily located and you bold all the sections that you did update on. Overall great first impression.
Information
I'm back in the world of dub after so many years being immersed in the original series and manga. This is definitely a must visit for any fan of the dub. I would have loved to see images accompany the information to make it more visitor friendly.
What is Sailor Moon? - This is a great summary of the dubbed history of Sailor Moon. In paragraph one, the translation of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is Pretty Soldier Sailormoon (it's always been Pretty, as noted on the Sailormoon artbooks, not sure where the beautiful came from but it's a common misconception. Sailormoon is also one word). In paragraph two "character?s background" fix the apostrophe. Sailor Moon for the first two seasons focuses on the five not four girls (Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus). In paragraph three, you might want to mention that Ami is the Japanese spelling and that her name was changed to Amy in the dub. Some visitors might not know what the difference between and sub and dub means so it would be a good idea to included the definition of what dub and sub actually mean.
Brief Summaries - An excellent job on the summaries of each season and the major characters. I had to test myself all over again remembering these dubbed names. I remember Raye having crows, but I don't believe she ever named them in the dub? Sailor Moon R might want to mention the Four Sisters: Catzi, Avery, Bertie, Prisma, Prince Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald. They were also key characters in Sailor Moon R. Remember to add the apostrophe "gangs" in Sailor Neptune/Michelle's profile. Sailor Moon Super S - they actually make Zirconia a male in the dub version. In the dub version Elios is named Helios.
Japanese to English Names - The dub characters also have last names, might want to add those in i.e. Amy Anderson. The respective color of Sailor Pluto is black not mauve-ish. The page would also look much cleaner if you change the text inside the table to be the same font and size as your original text.
Episode List - Same problem here with the different text inside the tables. If you know how to use CSS just create a class for the < table > tags so that all the text will be the same. Or the old school way of having the font and size tag in each of the < td > tags would also work. This is a great section of all the different translations the episodes have gone through.
Encyclopedia - Sorry to see this section down. It would have been interesting to see an encylopedia on the dubbed series, which you indicate is the main attraction on your site.
My Opinions - An original little page, I enjoyed all of your opinions. I have always found it facinating how Takeuchi Naoko was able to make each of her characters have such different personalities. It is sad to see how some of my favorite characters were portrayed in the dub, such as Ami, Michiru, and Tuxedo Kamen, which make them seem outcasted from the rest, dull and corny.
Gallery
It's not everyday you visit a gallery where the images are screencaped and/or scanned in by that owner. It's always a bit irksome to find that people don't appreciate the hard work that goes into screencapping/scanning/editing images. Kudos to you =D I like the tricky reading the rules technique. These are definitely some of the best screencaps I have seen from Sailormoon dubbed or subbed. I hope to see your gallery when it's completed, it will be quite a wonder.
Goodies
It's nice that you provide mp3 downloads for songs, but remember that it's still illegal to upload them. Just watch out for that. I enjoyed your lyrics page, although the Japanese songs are nice, I've always had a special affinity towards the dub songs. So many YKYWTMSMW! Some of these are really old school i.e. ZIP drives =D You also might want to SPAM protect your submittes' emails (email@nospamdomain.com). Since you decided to make this somewhat of a little quiz there are scripts available that allow you to tally up the scores better instead of having to do it manually. SNES Games! Yay! There use to be an abundance of sites that offered these games, but over the past few years they have disappeared. It's great to see that you provide them.
Site
A lovely personfication of what a site section should have and look like. Great job on this section.
Exit
Great section, I especially enjoyed the button wall, an amazing collection of links you have. I found it a bit odd to have links that don't have text on a seperate page, it somehow feels as though you're singling them out instead of incorporating them with all the other sites on the button wall.
Overall
I have a really fun time reminicing about the dub version of Sailor Moon. It's been so long since I last saw a dubbed episode. Makes me want to whip out the old videotapes and watch the characters speak in English all over again. This is definitely an excellent resource for those who want to learn/reminice about the dub version because of the very few errors. The only thing I found lacking was the lack of images, you need to give your fans some eye candy to keep them interested sometimes. It would also be nice to see what the characters look like. Other than that great job!
Sailor Moon Experience's Reply to this Review
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to review my site! You have pointed out several errors and gave me a few ideas and I went back and changed/added some stuff. Making and maintaining websites is a very tedious job, and I appreciate the help that you have provided. You gave helpful suggestions and pointed out errors without having to bash the website at all. This is what makes your review site above all others, especially since you understand how much hard work goes into maintaining a website. Thank you once again!
