four generals of earth in love with the first four senshi?

During the Silver Millennium, Prince Endymion had four close generals (or translated kings) to him: Kunzite, Zoicite, Nephrite, and Jaedite. Automatically, many fans assumed that these four generals had romantic relationships with Princess Serenity's guardians: Venus, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter after Takeuchi created the above image in her Original Picture Collection Volume 1. Takeuchi's comments on her picture:

This is the title page for the conclusion of the first series of Sailor Moon. It had a great deal of impact on the first series, probably because the four couplings on the right side were unexpected. I was thinking of love stories of the previous lives of these couples. I'd like to be able to draw that someday... - translated from Artbook I notes by The Manga of Takeuchi Naoko

Clearly, Takeuchi did not write down any hard evidence in the manga showing true romance between these eight, however she did think about it.

There are hints in Code Name Sailor V and Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon that indicate some sparks of interest between Sailorvenus and Kunzite. In Act 15 of Code Name Sailor V during a discussion between Adonis and Venus he indicates how he saw her staring into Kunzite's eyes. In Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon when Venus and Kunzite meet for the first time in the past, she blushes when he talks to her.

inner and outer senshi

Throughout the entire Sailormoon manga there is nowhere that Takeuchi separates the Solar System senshi into Inner and Outer. This is a fan based term. Along the lines of website making the senshi were somehow split into two teams of Inner and Outer. The Inner team features Venus, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter. Outer team features Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn. The senshi were separated by when they appeared in the series and their relationship/proximity to Sailormoon. Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter all are very close to Sailormoon, are of the same age, and go to the same school (except for Mars). The "Outer" senshi are all older (except for Saturn who fluctuates, closer to the mentality/age of Chibimoon) and are more mature and remote from Sailormoon. Takeuchi draws most of her images separating the senshi into appearance of an "Inner" and "Outer" team. Fans also claim that the "Inners" are closer to the Sun than the "Outers" are.

It is true that the senshi all have different relationship statuses with Sailormoon and that the "Inner" have the closer relationship, while the "Outers" are remote. Scientifically, the planet Jupiter is considered an "Outer" planet since it on the outside of the Asteroid Belt, thus debunking the term "Outer" incorrect since Sailorjupiter has a close relationship with Sailormoon. It is noted in the manga, that Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune monitor the Outer Realm of the Sol System, which is perhaps another indication of where the term "Outer" spawned.

sailorpluto in love with king endymion?

This is another popular theory going around because of a few certain images and some last words that Sailorpluto said right before she died after using the taboo "Time Stop." (She is later reincarnated) In Act 23 of the manga as Sailorpluto dies, King Endymion is kneeling before her. Before she dies she indicates how handsome the king looks before the sunset. Fans automatically assumed that there was something of a love relationship going on between King Endymion and Sailorpluto, or at least Sailorpluto was in love with the king. Other fans claim that this is her loyalty to the Royal Family and nothing more.

In my opinion the love is a little of both. The only male that Sailorpluto comes in close proximity with throughout the manga is King Endymion. She is also loyal to the Sol System standard is a guardian of the Royal Family, thus is in "love" with the Royal Family. Regarding the color manga image that Takeuchi drew featuring Neo Queen Serenity, King Endymion, and Sailorpluto was probably drawn in that style to show the arc in the storyline that features the Royal Family and through Sailorpluto's Time Gate/warp is how this particular storyline came together.

selenity or serenity?

In Japanese, the letters L and R are pronounced the same way i.e. ryuu (dragon) is pronounced lyuu. This is probably the largest bump in trying to figure out whether or not Takeuchi meant Selenity or Serenity since it is pronounced exactly the same in Japanese. The second argument is on merchandise, such as the image above, where Selenity is clearly printed. However, choosing Serenity seems more plausible considering the information we have at present.

As noted on Neo Queen Serenity's page, on the Earth's Moon there is a location (lunar mare) called Mare Serenitatis, which is directly translated as Sea of Serenity. Takeuchi places the past Moon Kingdom directly on Mare Serenitatis. She acknowledges that there is a location on the Moon named Mare Serenitatis. Serene adj: shining bright and steady or clear, free of unpleasantness, utter calmness. The adjective clearly personifies the characteristics that Serenity (the character) demonstrates throughout the manga.

Many sites indicate that Takeuchi meant Selenity since Selene is Greek mythology's goddess of the moon. Yet in the English language there is no such noun Selenity as there is of Serenity.

True, many of Takeuchi's names in the manga do not actually make sense i.e. Heavy Metal Papillion, but in a more reasonable conclusion that Takeuchi would have just named her main protagonist as Selene instead of adding the -ity. As with many Japanese anime/manga merchandise translated words can often be wrong. As seen above pictures, a variety of grammatical and spelling errors i.e. Qeen = Queen.
